Save The Bees!

The bee population is declining. Do your bit to save the bees and save the planet

I never thought I would choose to get this close to a bee, not like I'm scared of them (wasps on the other hand...TERRIFIED!), I'm just not a bug person. However, after seeing what David Attenborough had to say on bugs and the planet I felt it only right to do my bit.

Mixing sugar and water for the bees to drink will help give them the energy they need to get home
Bees play a detrimental role in humanity, save the bees with a sugary water solution
What am I talking about?

If you haven't seen it all over social media yet, (where have you been?) Mr Attenborough said:

"In the last 5 years the bee population has dropped by 1/3. If bees were to disappear from the face of the earth, humans would have just 4 years left to live. This time of year bees can often look like they are dying or dead, however, they're far from it. Bees can become tired and they simply don't have enough energy to return to the hive which can often result in being swept away."

What can we do about it?

All the bee needs is a bit of energy to get itself back home and they can get this from sugar water.

Mix two tablespoons of white granulated sugar with one tablespoon of water. Place it on a spoon close enough for the bee to reach and let it have a drink. Soon after the bee will have recovered, gained some energy and fly off home.

Something so simple will help the bee population and in turn help the planet.

Let's do our bit!
